•  SuperWoman

Gaby McKeever represented all four Club senior teams in 2016, the first woman to ever play for the 1st XI.

•  What? Just a hat-trick! - in the 1st XI match v. Frodsham (a) 15/09/12, A  Manedath took a hat-trick. Amazingly, this feat was surpassed in the same game, when R Higginbotham took 4 wickets in 4 balls!!

•  Perfect 10  - R Hardie 24th June 1974 v. Moorfield. Took 10-43 for the 1st XI but as the local paper reported “Hardie takes 10 for 43 but he is still a loser”, as sadly for him, the batting couldn’t match his efforts.

Cricket is like Marmite, entirely eccentric, wholly English and something the rest of the world will never truly understand.                Dickie Bird

Cricket: As explained to a foreigner...

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in, goes out and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in andthe side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out, try to get him out and when he is out, he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.

There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in, are out.

When both sides have been in and all the men are out and both sides have been out twice, after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!
